About the survey

Clean Energy Canada, a clean energy think tank based at Simon Fraser University, and Summerhill, an energy services company, have partnered to better understand Canadians’ motivations, experiences, and satisfaction with their heat pumps.

This short survey contains XX to XX questions and takes approximately XX to XX minutes. The survey is open until January 30, 2026 (inclusive).

Who you are

If you use or were involved in installing a heat pump in your home in Canada—whether you own, rent, or share the property—we want to hear from you. More than one person per household is welcome to participate.

How to participate

  1. Open the survey portal using any of the “start the survey” buttons on this page.
  2. Answer the qualifying question on the first page of the survey portal.
  3. Complete the questions in the ‘Required’ section (and the ‘Optional’ section if you wish). 
  4. Click ‘Submit.’ That’s it!

What your data will and won’t be used for

We value your privacy. Your responses will be combined with those of other participants and analyzed in aggregate. Any personally identifiable information you provide will be kept confidential and will not be shared or published. 

The insights gathered from this survey will be used to:

Better understand Canadians’ experiences with heat pumps

Learn what factors, from cost savings to government rebates,influence decisions about heat pump adoption

Shed light on attitudes and preferences related to energy-efficient measures in the home.

In other words, your input will help inform policy, communications, and program design recommendations aimed at making clean energy solutions more accessible to Canadians.
