TORONTO — Sarah Petrevan, senior policy advisor at Clean Energy Canada, responded today to the Ontario government’s newly launched Cleantech Strategy.

“Ontario’s Cleantech Strategy recognizes that it’s not just our environment changing but our economy too. The growing global market for low-carbon goods and services is now worth $5.8 trillion, and today’s announcement will give a boost to Ontario companies looking to get in on the action.

“The reality is that every sector in every economy is now in need of smarter, cleaner solutions. And Ontario’s cleantech companies are stepping up to meet that demand both here at home and overseas.

“Helping cleantech companies secure their first few customers can make a world of difference as they grow and develop. That’s why the initiatives announced today, like the Global Market Acceleration Fund and the Green Focus on Innovation and Technology, will have big impacts down the road. They make Ontario a place in which to succeed.”
